The Role

The Staff Writer will be a full-time position ideally based in Hong Kong or Singapore. You will work closely with a team of experienced journalists, financial analysts and lawyers, and predominantly focus on writing up press releases and company announcements with a strong emphasis on speed, accuracy and clarity.
The ideal candidate will have strong news sense and the ability to create compelling stories from complex information. Confidence in writing about business and finance is essential for the role.
The Staff Writer will be an excellent communicator, capable of working with members of different teams and developing good relationships with external press and investor relations contacts.

Responsibilities

• Write breaking news stories based on company announcements
• Support a team of experienced journalists, financial analysts and lawyers

Requirements

• Excellent written and spoken English (Mandarin or Bahasa Indonesia will be a bonus)
• Excellent writing skills, time management and communication skills
• Previous journalism experience or training preferred but not required
• Strong news sense, with an interest in financial news and markets
• Able to begin work at 8 a.m. HKT / SGT
• Strong attention to detail
