About the job
As Kopperfield's first marketing hire, you'll be responsible for driving the adoption of our products and services that enable home electrification. This role will focus on increasing the usage of our products and services among both consumers and electrical contractors. Working across sales, partnerships, and product functions, you'll develop and execute marketing campaigns that highlight the unique value of our offerings. You'll identify target audiences, develop messaging, and manage marketing KPIs. You'll help shape our strategy, drive demand for Kopperfield's products, and accelerate home electrification to fight climate change.
What you'll be responsible for:
- Developing and executing a comprehensive product marketing strategy, including product positioning, messaging, and go-to-market (GTM) initiatives to drive adoption of Kopperfield's offerings.
- Conducting in-depth customer and market research to identify key audiences and buyer personas. Leveraging insights to develop targeted lead generation programs, sourcing high-quality leads for the sales team. Managing lead nurturing, scoring, and conversion rates.
- Enabling the success of the sales team by optimizing lead flow, developing impactful content (case studies, presentations, newsletter), building tailored landing pages, and providing training on products and key messaging.
- Defining and tracking key marketing KPIs such as lead quality and quantity, sales opportunities, conversion rates, customer acquisition cost, and the performance of content, campaigns, and product features. Monitoring KPIs and adjusting strategies to optimize effectiveness.
- Managing all performance marketing channels, including SEO, SEM, paid social, content syndication, and more. Supporting development of channel strategies. Monitoring performance, budgets, and optimizing for best results across channels.
- Supporting all company communication initiatives, including public relations, partnerships, customer advocacy, and internal communications. Develop impactful communication plans and build brand awareness.
- Contributing to overall marketing strategies and planning, including the quarterly marketing plan, budgeting, hiring needs, and more. Providing strategic insight and recommendations to grow the success and impact of marketing.
You might be a good fit if you have:
- 5+ years marketing experience at a software company, preferably with both product marketing and growth marketing skillsets.
- Proven success developing and executing GTM strategies, marketing technology products, and optimizing conversion rates. Experience working with both traditional and digital marketing channels.
- Startup experience in a high-growth marketing role, where you contributed strategic vision and built/led programs from the ground up. Passionate about building the foundations of a marketing organization.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to use data to inform marketing decisions. Experience translating complex data into compelling stories and action plans.
- Willingness to get in the weeds. You understand what it takes to actually implement marketing strategies and are prepared to roll up your sleeves as needed, whether it's reviewing pages of conversion data, developing product content, or testing campaigns.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities. You can convey strategic recommendations, marketing vision, and complex data-driven insights in a simple yet powerful way.
- Experience managing outside vendors, agencies, and PR firms to collaborate and achieve key priorities.
- Track record of collaborating with design teams to produce engaging visual assets and well-crafted content. Able to articulate content and messaging needs to designers and provide constructive feedback to achieve creative excellence. Ensures brand consistency across all marketing materials and channels.

- Experience working within the climate tech, sustainability, or renewable energy sectors. Understands the unique challenges of driving adoption of innovative but complex products. Track record of success marketing game-changing technologies and developing compelling value propositions centered around making an environmental impact.
