ROLE OVERVIEW

Sense is looking for a creative and inspiring Consumer Content Manager that will motivate people to reduce their home’s carbon footprint. This role will be responsible for content strategy and development, leading end-to-end content creation from conception through to execution.

Sense’s goal is to help customers demystify their home’s energy usage and empower them to take action to save energy. We view inspiring and educational content as central to this mission.

This is an opportunity to join Sense during a period of growth and expansion. After closing a $120M+ Series C round last year we are excited to reach a new generation of customers who are less technologically savvy. As the Content Manager you will be responsible for creating, managing, and delivering high quality engaging content that helps customers understand their home energy use, provides guidance on how to lower their electricity bills, and promotes a shift to clean energy.

What you’ll be doing

  • Own consumer content strategy and roadmap. You’ll drive the strategy and roadmap to create engaging content to be used in our website, social media, email, and app with input from the Marketing, Product, Design and Energy Services teams.
  • Create and produce a wide range of high-quality assets including blogs, gifs, video, product tutorials, etc.
  • Own and manage the content creation budget and determine how to use it most effectively. Determine what content you will create yourself, source and manage talent as needed.
  • Define the content testing plan. Evaluate all efforts with both quantitative and qualitative results to inform future direction and optimization.
  • Manage one direct report who is responsible for Social Media and Community management.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience creating Instagram, TikTok, or Youtube Content and knowledge of the creator ecosystem
  • Strong and versatile portfolio with demonstrated experience taking complex ideas and making them simple and engaging across a range of different format types – written, video, social, GIFs, etc.
  • Experience building content strategies for consumer-facing brands. Experience in energy, climate tech, or smart home preferred but not required.
  • Superb understanding of social media landscape
  • Good judgment and instincts when it comes to humor, community engagement, and brand integrity
  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and creative inputs
  • Can proactively identify opportunities for growth in trending topics and formats
  • 1-2 years experience of people management preferred
