Senior Data / BI / GIS Lead

Dreamers Inc. is a research and software consultancy built around high performance with low stress. We like working on interesting things, learning from each other, and teaching each other. Sometimes that means self-driving tractors, satellite boards, natural language processing engines, quantum computing, physical robotics, or government systems that need to work correctly for real people. Other times it means web and mobile apps, and those can be pretty cool, too.

We are looking for a senior data, BI, and GIS lead who can turn unruly public-sector data into products that are accurate, explainable, accessible, and genuinely useful. If you can make a dashboard tell the truth without making the humans reading it suffer, we should talk.

What you will bring:

• Deep experience with data architecture, modeling, integration, quality, and governance
• Strong SQL plus hands-on work with PostgreSQL/PostGIS, Python, and ETL/ELT pipelines
• Production experience with Power BI, Tableau, ArcGIS/ESRI, or comparable analytics and geospatial platforms
• Experience building public dashboards, operational reporting, maps, APIs, and repeatable data products
• The judgment to trace a number back to its source, explain assumptions, and resolve conflicting definitions
• Clear communication with agency leaders, program staff, analysts, designers, and engineers
• A history of owning difficult delivery work rather than merely attending its meetings

Extra points for:

• Direct federal, state, local, tribal, transit, education, or other regulated-sector delivery
• ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Online, geocoding, spatial analysis, open-data portals, or real-time feeds
• Accessibility-aware data visualization and reporting
• Cloud data platforms, data migrations, master-data work, or formal data-governance programs
• Relevant certifications and strong public-sector references

The contract rate range is $75-$120 per hour, depending on depth, role fit, and the specific engagement. Please share your target hourly rate and availability.

This is a U.S.-remote contract role. Some government engagements require U.S. citizenship, public-trust eligibility, or other client-specific screening, so please state your citizenship and current U.S. work authorization.

We are building relationships ahead of anticipated contract awards. A conversation now may lead to a near-term engagement, but this post is not a guarantee of immediate or continuous hours.
