Indiegraf is seeking an experienced Senior Developer to join Indiegraf’s growing technology team. This full-time role is responsible for contributing to designing, developing and maintaining websites using established and standardized Wordpress starter themes and templates. This role is on a collaborative team of other developers and a product manager. It is ideal for someone motivated to grow as part of a team at a fast-growing, mission-driven company.

This role is remote and open to candidates in Canada or the United States. An office is available to team members based in Vancouver and Toronto.

Key Responsibilities:

• Contribute to the ongoing evolution of and improvement to Indiegraf’s Wordpress themes and related tools, in collaboration with the Product Manager;
• Develop Indiegraf publisher websites using established and standardized Wordpress starter themes and templates;
• Work in a collaborative development environment using GitHub, Local and Jira workflows;
• Monitor and optimize the performance of existing network websites;
• Oversee and mentor other developers on projects; and
• Elevate Indiegraf’s coding practices and standards.

Key skills and competencies

• Significant experience using the Wordpress CMS framework;
• Significant experience using HTML, CSS, Javascript and PHP;
• Experience using Jira;
• Experience using Local by Flywheel; and
• Significant experience using GitHub.

Education and experience

• 5+ years as a Wordpress developer;
• 3+ years using Github for version control in a team setting;
• Experience collaborating on projects using Jira; and
• Experience in the journalism industry, an asset.

Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has no direct reports.
