Backend Developer for SaaS Analytics Software

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Backend Developer to join our dynamic team and contribute to the development of our cutting-edge analytics platform.

As a Backend Developer, you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and maintaining the server-side components of our SaaS analytics software. You will work closely with our front-end developers, product managers, and data engineers to ensure our platform is robust, scalable, and efficient.

Key Responsibilities:

• Work with the leadership team and offshore developers to develop, maintain, and enhance the data pipelines and API services used to deliver our analytics to customers. Current stack: Java/Jax-RS and Python/FastAPI.
• Collaborate with front-end developers to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic.
• Optimize database performance and write efficient SQL queries.
• Provide level 2 / level 3 escalation support for production issues, primarily during North American business hours.
• Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members.
• Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies to continuously improve our backend architecture.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Prior experience with software development and devops techniques in SaaS environments is required.
• Prior experience with email standards, email deliverability, and anti-spam technology is highly desirable.
• Strong proficiency in Python and Java.
• Solid understanding of SQL and experience with relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL).
• Familiarity with RESTful APIs and web services.
• Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).
• Excellent problem-solving skills, integrity, and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, agile development environment.

Preferred Skills:

• Knowledge of cloud platforms and services (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
• Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
• Understanding of DevOps practices and tools.
