Percept Imagery has developed a unique augmented reality platform called Sprie that enables retailers to personalise online shopping experiences by allowing shoppers to try products in the real world before buying them.

Job Description

We are looking for a Node.js developer responsible for managing the interchange of data between the server and the users. Your primary focus will be the development of all server-side logic, definition and maintenance of the central database, and ensuring high performance and responsiveness to requests from the front-end.

You will ensure that these components and the overall application are robust and easy to maintain. You will coordinate with the rest of the team working on different layers of the infrastructure.
Therefore, a commitment to collaborative problem solving, sophisticated design, and quality product is important.

Responsibilities

• Writing and maintaining core business logic
• Integration of user-facing elements developed by front-end developers with server side logic
• Writing reusable, testable, and efficient code
• Design and implementation of low-latency, high-availability, and performant applications
• Work with microservices and architect better solutions
• Implementation of security and data protection
• Integration and Maintenance of data storage solutions
• Deliver awesome web apps supporting our ML enabled AR applications.

Skills

• Strong proficiency in JavaScript & TypeScript, latest concepts and features in ES6
• Knowledge of Node.js and frameworks (express, 0http, passport)
• Understanding the nature of asynchronous programming and its quirks and workarounds
• Basic understanding of front-end technologies, such as HTML5, and CSS3
• Understanding accessibility and security compliances
• User authentication and authorization between multiple systems, servers, and environments
• Integration of multiple data sources and databases into one system ( mongoDB, redis, etc)
• Transport systems for server to server communication (amqp, kafka, NATs)
• Understanding fundamental design principles behind a scalable application
• Creating database schemas that represent and support business processes
• Implementing automated testing platforms and unit tests
• Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git
• Working with AWS services and being able to deploy solutions over EC2, Load Balancers, etc.
