Data Scientist

Responsibilities

• Collect, extract, integrate, and analyze large volumes of data from a variety of sources
• Apply modern ML/AI techniques to predict outcomes of sports events, with an emphasis on in-game, real-time modelling
• Initial focus on NFL, NBA, and MLB, with the potential to expand across traditional and esports.
• Work with engineering and design teams to integrate models into InPlay Innovation’s products

Skills/Experience

• Degree in a quantitative field (Advanced Degree in Math or Statistics is ideal but not required)
• 2+ years of relevant professional experience (Data Scientist, Machine Learning Engineer, Quantitative Analyst, or similar)
• Strong programming skills in a scientific computing language such as Python
• Experience using frameworks for machine learning and data science like scikit-learn, pandas, numpy, pytorch, tensorflow/keras
• Understanding of statistical methods and contemporary ML algorithms
• Interest in and experience with sports and/or gaming
• Strong collaborator
• Excellent oral and written communicator
• Comfortable in early-stage, fast-paced, high-growth environments
