Back-End Engineer

Responsibilities

• Build out the technology stack powering HotStreak with an emphasis on database design, system scaling, and all-around development.
• Write clean, scalable code with a high degree of autonomy
• Contribute to product and design discussions
• Learn new technologies and frameworks as needed
• Ensure that technology standards and best practices are maintained across the organization

Skills/Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer/Software Engineering or Computer Science is required; applicants with graduate degrees are also welcome.
• 4+ years experience
• Experience with Ruby on Rails, Postgres/ActiveRecord, Heroku, Redis, GraphQL, SideKiq, RabbitMQ, real-time data processing, are all a plus
• Expert understanding of object-oriented design, polymorphism, inheritance
• Enjoy coding and solving complex problems in clean, concise and extendable ways.
• Comfortable in early-stage, fast-paced, high-growth environments
• Interest in and/or experience with Sports and/or Gaming are ideal but not required
