Technical Writer

We are looking for an experienced Technical Writer with proven technical skills experience and is someone who understands the importance of compelling features and functionality in driving great customer experiences. We are in the midst of a rebuild and need a Technical Writer to help us document our legacy systems to help us transition to our new ones.

Reporting to the VP of Product Manager, the Technical Writer will be accountable for:

• Writing detailed technical product specifications of existing platforms and features but also for new functionality and features for our technologies, business processes, tools and/or systems.
• Educating and training internal business teams on product specifications, and key benefits and features
• Create documentation that is accurate and complete, yet concise and easy to understand for the intended audience.
• Interact closely with multiple disparate business and technical teams to understand business processes and produce effective concise and consumable technical writing services.
• Writing, editing, organizing, and maintaining technical documents using proper technical structure and process.
• Giving presentations and demos as needed.
• Understanding and diagraming pre and post changes to the technical landscape
• Providing strategic advice in relation to future product development initiatives
• Working with the team to drive customizations and roll out features/products

What you need to be successful:

• 3+ years in the field of technical documentation. Knowledge and understanding of technical writing methods, techniques, and formats.
• Outstanding analytical skills, able to interpret business requirements and use cases combined with an ability to learn complex software applications quickly.
• Working knowledge of Rest API documentation. Experience with Confluence (Jira), Viseo and/or Blasmiq a plus
• Exceptional interpersonal, communication (both, spoken and written), and influencing skills, as well as an ability to navigate a complex and unstructured cross-functional environment
• Bachelor’s degree; an MBA is strong preferred
• Street smarts; willingness to roll up the sleeves and do whatever is necessary to meet team goals
• Ability to gracefully shift priorities and be able to handle change

• Ability to prioritize in an ambiguous environment
