Product Manager - Payroll Operations

Franklin is a startup developing crypto native solutions for business processes like payroll, accounts receivable and accounts payable. Our compliant solution connects existing banking/financial infrastructure with the web3 ecosystem so that it is possible to distribute payments in USD on traditional banking rails and in crypto onchain. Franklin’s onchain solutions have been in market for 1 year+ and are used by businesses across web3 and web2.

We are looking for a strategic Payroll Operations Product Manager who is passionate about financial innovation both in web3 and traditional finance. Franklin is continually innovating to improve our payroll operations infrastructure and this individual will evolve and manage Franklin’s payroll operations. The ideal candidate possesses a robust understanding of payroll operations, combined with expertise in product definition and collaborating with developers in software development cycles.

We have a small, tight-knit, remote focused team and intend to stay that way. We make decisions collaboratively and empower each team member to make high impact contributions. Our goal is to build transformative technologies that enable a better future for teams to work together.

Responsibilities

• Continually evolve Franklin’s payroll operations
• Manage day-to-day payroll operations, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance
• Implement and oversee robust systems and processes that support the scalability of our payroll operations
• Manage all client local, state, and federal filing requirements and access points
• Develop automated reconciliation schedules
• Correspond with tax authorities

*Skills & Qualifications *

• 5 years experience in payroll operations at companies like Vertex, Symmetry, Check, ADP, or managing payroll operations at an outsourced consulting firm
• Subject matter expertise in national tax calculations and filings
• Strong understanding of software development cycles and the ability to work closely with technical teams
• Proven ability to lead and scale operational teams in a fast-paced environment
• Familiarity with writing user stories
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, comfortable working in a remote environment
• Highly self-organized, able to handle multiple projects simultaneously
• Self-starter with a proactive approach to problem solving
