Oracle Application Database Administrator(DBA)

The Senior Software Developer (Application DBA) will be a key member of the Global Business Systems organization with responsibility for servicing Sabre’s business community with Billing Data warehouse solutions including analyzing, administering, maintaining and configuring existing data marts. In addition to establishing and maintaining good working relationships internally, this position will participate in various cross-functional organizational initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Will be responsible for helping application teams work with different databases set up in SAP HANA, Oracle, BigQuery, MS SQL Server, Teradata etc.
• Work with our Infrastructure DBA to make sure all our databases are patched and upgraded at the right times.
• Creation of database according to our infrastructure DBA standards and Migration of data from one db to other.
• Creates, distributes, and enforces standards for user account, group, and database security and configuration for all databases that may contain PII or other sensitive data protected under GDPR, SOX, or other state or federal regulatory requirements
• Designs, documents, implements, and monitors archive and other essential log file configuration, operation, and location.
• Provides monthly reports to management on performance on production databases including any performance exceptions and all requested performance data in a summarized, easy-to-read format.
• Proactively monitor for performance issues and monitors table spaces. Creates purge processes, partitions and indexes as necessary.
• Ability to write SQL and debug sql issues
• Analyze legacy sql code in various databases and help with optimization
• Ability to develop optimal data models based on business requirements
• Perform code reviews to ensure quality standards
• Must have experience in and contribute to all phases of software development life cycle
• Read and understand business requirements - translate business requirements into functional and technical requirements
• Identify/troubleshoot application and/or code-related issues
• Support post implementation activities by debugging, fixing, and participating in maintenance releases as identified in the project plan
• Experienced working in Business Object & Qlik.
• Demonstrate creative, strategic thinking and problem solving; able to exercise independent judgment in a highly complex environment using leading-edge technology
• Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communications skills with technical and non-technical clients *
