JOB DESCRIPTION

We are seeking a highly skilled full-stack developer to join our team in Vancouver to help support and scale the WelTel platform to enterprise readiness. WelTel is a growing start-up company with a proven track record and we are looking for someone who can grow with us. Good candidates will not only be able to fly, but will be enthusiastic about web technologies, scalability, data efficiency, and code quality.

We are in the process of becoming cloud-agnostic and truly commercialized after leading the global research in our field.

THE FOLLOWING WILL APPLY TO SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATES:

Demonstrated experience, passion and success - A degree in Computer Science could be nice but not necessary

• At least 5+ years of experience as a professional developer/engineer
• Expert-level familiarity in NodeJS, JavaScript, Typescript (ES6, tooling, libraries) extra credit for experience with Angular
• Demonstrated experience building and maintaining RESTful APIs
• Knowledge of privacy/data security/sensitivity in healthcare an asset
• Solid understanding of successful software architecture designs and patterns
• Linux/Ubuntu system administration experience: managing users, bash scripting, firewalls, remote admin, and command line
• Understanding of MySQL administration/tuning, including indexes and cascading
• Firm understanding of Source code management and releasing strategies
• Familiar with testing frameworks (Mocha, Chai, Sinon)
• Proficient in HTML and CSS3
• Understanding of the concept of dependency injection/inversion of control
• Understanding of UI/UX concepts
• Awareness of responsive design issues (mobile-friendly)
• Awareness of web application security concerns: MySQL injection, XSS, CSRF
• Experience with container driven development using Docker
• Cloud development experience very helpful but not required: Providers: AWS, Azure, GCP Kubernetes

Role/Responsibility:

The successful candidate will have mastered flying with and without a cape and will do further amazing things like sending people to the Moon (again). Be ready to launch.
