We are looking for a Visit Africa (Architect Tourism SMC) Tourism Ambassador to creatively enable, and promote Visit Africa tourism events to potential clients (individuals, travel groups, companies or organizations), for a breathtaking experience of tourism in Africa.

Visitors/Clients are comprised of individuals and groups of visitors, companies/organizations. This Job is a commission based job, paid between 6%-10% per visitor you recommend to us for a specific tourism event(s). Your primary role is to promote, attract visitors/clients to book for Visit Africa (Architect Tourism SMC) tourism events, also providing friendly, courteous tourism related services, orienting visitors about tourism in Africa, offering key tourism related information about a/the tourism event/destination.

You are required to promote Visit Africa tourism events in your location, state or country. Note that you will be the ony person promoting Visit Africa tourism events in your town and state, but not in your country. Other Tourism Ambassadors will be stationed in their respective towns and states in the same country.

Essential Functions

General Responsibilities

  • Responsible for promoting Visit Africa (Architect Tourism SMC) tourism events, orienting, interacting and educating visitors
  • Contact potential purchasers such as retail agencies and associations in order to present tourism products
  • Establish good customer relations and understand customer needs
  • Show catalogues and explain booking procedures
  • Illustrate and propose travel packages, rates, new products, and any favourable commercial conditions of the company you represents, such as discounts, promotional campaigns, and so forth
  • Do utmost to stimulate the purchase of tourism products
  • Organize training seminars regarding tourism products and related information
  • Maintain a good company image
  • Engage clients/visitors in a friendly, hospitable, and respectful manner and be responsive to their interests and questions; exercising good judgment when interacting with visitors
  • Knowledgeable about tourism in Africa, its tourist attractions
  • Assist/train visitors with information about specific tourism events and various destinations offered by Visit Africa (Architect Tourism SMC) available to them
  • Distribute Visit Africa (Architect Tourism SMC) tourism related information
  • Point of contact for all visitors/client from his/her tourism market range.
  • Collect visitor statistics
  • Provide feedback for the betterment of Visit Africa (Architect Tourism SMC)

Tourism Event Responsibilities

  • Provide all the needed information on promoted products and services
  • Assist customers in finding the suitable product they are looking for
  • Provide advice and guidance on product selection to customers
  • Build lasting relationships with customers by contacting them to follow up on purchases, suggest purchase options and invite them to upcoming events
  • Consistently seek new product knowledge to act as an expert for the customer
  • Present products using interactive materials such as videos, charts, slideshows etc.
  • Arrange merchandise to look tidy and attractive to customers
  • Disseminate product samples, brochures, flyers etc.
  • Engage with customer and discover their wants and needs

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Should be familiar with tourism destinations throughout Africa, mainly Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, South Africa, Namibia, Zimbabwe and Egypt.
  • Effective interpersonal, written and oral communication skills

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Proficiency in basic computer skills
  • Independently motivated with excellent leadership skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
  • Superb customer service, marketing and sales skills
  • Knowledge of rules, laws governing tourism in various African countries, and an ability to work well independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to work early mornings, evenings and weekends, and holidays as needed
  • Ability to conduct monetary transactions accurately
  • Ability to effectively communicate with visitors in person, on the phone, online and/or via email
  • Knowledge of or interest in learning about tourism in Africa.
  • Energetic, creative, and dependable
  • Customer oriented approach
  • Excellent communication, presentation and leadership skills
  • Aptitude in presentation and public speaking
  • Attention to details

Salary:

Salary: You will earn 6% - 10% of total tourism event pricing per client.
Everytime a client recommended by you books for a tourism event with us through you, you will get a commission based on agreement.
Note: Each a tourism event to run, between 5 to 25 visitors/clients must have booked.
