Anheuser-Busch's Commercial Analytics team is responsible for building competitive differentiated solutions that improve profitability, revenue or save costs in our Sales capabilities. As a senior software engineer, you will work at the intersection of application of machine/deep learning solutions, best in class cloud technology & micro-services architecture, and use DevOps standard methodologies, including model serving, data and code versioning, and other developer tooling. As a bonus, you will build new product features from start to finish, such as developing and deploying new demand models served into production systems. You will also have the opportunity to review and influence the engineering design, architecture, and technology stack across multiple products, outside your immediate focus.
Senior BI Developer, you will work closely to evaluate business insight needs and develop visualizations in PowerBI that invoke action. This is an extraordinary opportunity to develop storytelling skills and harden data modelling expertise.
This position reports to the Senior Director of Software Engineering.
Responsibilities:
• Work closely with departments, and executives to determine business analytics needs and clarify requirements
• Retrieve, analyze, and transform data into creative, aesthetically-pleasing visualizations in PBI that provide insight in subject areas and invoke action
• Effectively communicate analytical findings to users and provide education on dashboards built
• Follow and enhance BI standards and best practices across the team
• Collaborate and mentor team members on methodology, design and architecture
• Manage work as code in DevOps framework
• Work closely with data architecture and ETL partners to make suggestions on new data warehouse needs, data structure, etc.
• Develop and maintain knowledge base and support documentation for both the department and varying levels of user groups
• Build data models and pipelines feeding the PowerBI front end tools and focus on insights that drive adoption
Qualifications:
• Min Bachelor's degree in mathematics, statistics, computer science, information management, or equivalent (combination of education and experience also acceptable)
• 2+ years of experience with BI visualizations, preferably PowerBI
• Strong story-telling skills using data and visualizations with focus on end-user experience
• Deep understanding of SQL databases and query language
• Ability to work with minimal supervision, take initiative, and manage competing deadlines
• Strengths in communication, critical thinking / problem resolution, time management, attention to detail, and aesthetics
• Knowledge of Azure Data Factory, SPSS and/or other statistical programs preferred, but not necessary
• Knowledge of SSIS and/or ETL preferred, but not necessary
• Experience with DevOps practice is a plus
