Role Description
The Technical Business Analyst works closely with the product owner, clients, solution architects and designers to turn feature requests into technical designs, workflows, wireframes, designs, and functional requirements ready for development.
The strong technical knowledge of the Business Analyst means they can help with the technical solution design and while engaging with the solution architects and tech leads to define the desired solution technical design, you have enough technical knowledge to clearly define and document the required technical implementation.
Key Responsibilities
- Review feature requests and work with the product manager to determine prioritisation of features, Supporting research and customer testing initiatives in the development of engaging, innovative and functionality rich solutions
- Managing the solution design process for a program of feature requests and product enhancements
- For each new feature request, determine the scope, the business value and goals for the new feature
- Work closely with the product manager, and clients to define the solution functional requirements
- Based on functional requirements engage the design team to produce UI / UX designs, iterate and feedback loops also result in updates to the solution requirements
- Based on the Functional requirements engage the solution architects on the technical design, including evaluating existing table structures, defining table updates, defining migration script requirements, api logic, permissions requirements, client side calls, and performance
- Once solution design is ready for sign off, run a solution review meeting with the API, Angular, and Mobile team leads for final review and evaluation.
- Document the User Acceptance Criteria for each requirement
- Completed designs are passed through to the product owner and scrum master for management of the delivery
- Attend scrum and stand up meetings for iterative feedback and design updates, updating the documentation along the way if changes are required
- Liaise with the release testing team, support team, and product manager to evaluate the solution that has been developed prior to release, and provide input on the release approval
- Defining success metrics and evaluating the performance of product against those goals
- Facilitating workshops that bring clarity to teams and move solutions forward
- Working to ensure consistency of designs and process across portfolios
Skills / Experience
- You have some form of Formal Technical Training i.e. you studied software development, Information Technology, Business Analysis, Data Analyst etc
- A portfolio of iteratively delivered product initiatives that show an ability to turn complex requirements into elegant solutions
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage technical, design, commercial team members, and clients
- Excellent critical thinking and analysis skills, with the ability to turn market needs into product realities,
- Ability to understand, evaluate and discuss technical integration scenarios, and architectural concepts,
- Process Mapping, Workflow Development and Tools, Documentation Tools, Atlassian Jira and Confluence, etc
