ZumaTek, Inc. is engaged in the development of leading-edge, dedicated whole-breast imaging technologies for enhanced 3D lesion detection. The ZumaTek x-ray CT scanner identifies small tumors in a patient’s uncompressed breast earlier than traditional screening mammograms. ZumaTek’s imaging technology eliminates painful breast compression used in mammography and tomosynthesis while allowing for compressionless whole-breast and chest wall imaging, earlier and more accurate detection, significantly lower radiation dose, and lower patient anxiety. These factors will not only lead to an increase in participation rates, but also provide a large gain in market share for an imaging provider in a competitive space. The product will provide a major benefit to society – in the U.S. and worldwide – given that it is extremely patient friendly (culturally sensitive) with no compression, is cost effective, and detects cancers earlier than established methods.
