Yelloan is a French Fintech developing solutions aimed at facilitating the access to consumer credit for individuals. All its services are aimed at financial inclusion. The first service proposed by Yelloan is the “garantie participative”, or “crowdfunded guarantee” in English. On a dedicated internet platform, yelloan.com, the credit applicant receives pledges from his friends and family, solicited through social networks such as Facebook. The pledged money is then used as a guarantee for the credit, thereby reducing the risk taken by the lender. Thanks to this crowdfunded guarantee, the lender is OK to grant the loan to the credit applicant, whatever its credit score. With the crowdfunded guarantee, Yelloan is typically serving people who, while solvent, do not have access to consumer credit due to the banks being unable to assess their ability to pay – in France, this is generally the case of people who are employed with a temporary contract. The service was launched beginning of 2016 with a first banking partner, Crédit Mutuel Arkea. Yelloan also works with Monabanq, a French online bank, and Crédit Agricole Consumer Finance, the European leader in the consumer finance field. In addition to that, Yelloan has just launched the first chatbot dedicated to online credit application. The bot initiates a discussion with the client and takes him through all the credit application process, going through the project description, the borrower financial conditions and the mandatory KYC process. In the end, the bot makes several financing proposals depending on how solvent the client is. Created in 2015, Yelloan raised funds for the first time in 2016 (EUR 1.75m from a venture capital fund). In 2017, the start-up won the “French Fintech of the Year” award from the Finance Innovation cluster and the “French digital innovation competition” (CIN from Bpifrance)!
