Windlift's mobile wind power station utilizes airborne wind energy (AWE) technology. AWE systems operate at a much higher altitude than traditional wind turbines, allowing for higher capacity factors and reduced siting requirements. The tethered airfoils can be quickly deployed from a mobile trailer, eliminating installation time and costs. At Class 3 wind sites this system will reduce fuel costs by 80% (2000 gallons/year). Over 15 years this will save military customers $350,000 per unit.
