Loneliness has become an epidemic in the United States, as the Office of the Surgeon General itself has declared. This phenomenon is most pronounced among people aged 15-24, who are reported to have 70% less social interactions with their friends than people of previous generations. With social networks effectively serving as anti-social platforms on which people stare at their phones while other human beings surround them, creating unhealthy addictions to smartphones, and fostering feelings of inadequacy, jealousy and resentment, we think that there are far healthier, more constructive and truly social ways to harness the smartphone's vast capabilities. That's why we're building Wanna Go.
