WannaGo is a social activity platform that helps people easily find others with whom to engage in fun activities, from attending a concert, sporting event, art showing or film festival to trying a new restaurant or bar to playing tennis or bowling. We're not a dating app or a social network. Sometimes you just someone with whom to do something -- WannaGo helps you find them.
We're looking for a technical co-founder and full-stack engineer to help develop of the v1 of our product. We’re seeking a developer whose code is clean, reliable, comprehensible and scalable, who is product- and detail-oriented, who is eager and able to find answers to hard questions and learn new technologies, who can contribute insights to our product, and who shares our passion, ambition and motivation.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Your responsibilities will be to:
- Help develop WannaGo’s mobile application
- Work with APIs
- Select, test and contribute to the adoption of software architecture, programming languages and new technologies
- Test and document code, and constantly ensure code quality, reliability and optimal performance
- Identify and fix bugs, as necessary
- Work remotely with flexible hours
QUALIFICATIONS
- At least 3 years of experience developing in backend programming languages, ideally in Node.js or Python
- Proficiency in and experience with front end programming languages, specifically React.js, HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript
- Relational database experience in MySQL
- Experience developing scalable, adaptive, high-performance apps
- Demonstrated ability to write and test high-quality, readable, reliable and well-architected code
- Ability to define, understand, develop, test and iterate new product features
- Experience with markup languages
- Experience working with and fetching data from internal and third party APIs
- Familiar with Git version control
- Located in or willing to work in New York City
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
