Vidcare is building Mu-sure, an equipment-free blood diagnostic platform. In simple term, the entire test fits in a disposable, credit card sized, self-contained chip, without compromising test accuracy. All you need is the mu-sure chip. Add a drop of sample (urine, saliva, finger-prick blood), wait 20 minutes, and read results as you do on a thermometer. It comes with a mobile app to guide the user (in case they feel confused), help them click a picture of the test at the end, calculate the final value (using computer vision) and share the final results with the physician.
The test is first of its kind test that does not require any instrument or power to provide quantitative readings, and is designed to be intuitive and easy to use such that any untrained user can also use. This is specifically important in home settings where users are low-skilled. First tests are for TSH hormone (hypothyroidism) HbA1c for diabetes patients.
Mu-sure in home settings will lead to larger uptake of preventable diagnostics, timely health outcomes for patients, no extra travel and reduced risk of higher expenses due to complications arising later on.
Over time, large amount of patient data generated will help create better and more targeted patient solutions in partnership with other stakeholders.
The tests are based on a patented platform technology to perform sandwich immunoassays in a microfluidic lab on a chip system.
