Everyone sees the world in different ways. That’s what makes the world worth exploring. Learning and thinking differences, like dyslexia, ADHD, and dysgraphia, affect 1 in 5 people in the U.S. But resources and support are scarce and life can feel like it’s set up for a normal that doesn’t exist. People get left behind without the right opportunities, and when that happens we all miss out. At Understood, we’re shaping the world for difference so everyone can thrive. We offer tools, support, and community to people who learn and think differently, and the people around them. Our focus is making real, positive impact at important moments in someone’s journey. We aim to empower as many people as possible: at home, at school, and at work. Because it takes everyone to shape the world for difference. Founded in 2014, Understood’s mission is to support the 1 in 5 children with learning and thinking differences. We’ve grown from one program (focused on families) in 2014 to four programs in 2019 (Families, Young Adults, Educators, and Workplace Initiative powered by Understood). We hope you join us!
