Everyone sees the world in different ways. That’s what makes the world worth exploring. Learning and thinking differences, like dyslexia, ADHD, and dysgraphia, affect 1 in 5 people in the U.S. But resources and support are scarce and life can feel like it’s set up for a normal that doesn’t exist. People get left behind without the right opportunities, and when that happens we all miss out.

We offer tools, support, and community to people who learn and think differently, and the people around them. Our focus is making real, positive impact at important moments in someone’s journey.

Founded in 2014, Understood’s mission is to support the 1 in 5 children with learning and thinking differences. Understood remains a free resource that aims to help everyone - regardless of difference - thrive.
