The founders of WILDcard have decades of experience working in and with governments in countries including Uganda, Australia, Malawi, Nigeria, Kenya and beyond. Having seen millions of dollars come into government budgets from donors and bigAID, we got tired with seeing little to no improvement on outcomes for citizens in sectors like education, health and - most urgently - the environment and climate response.

So we set out to speak with bureaucrats in local government, citizens whose lives are impacted, and experts in the fields of technology, governance, behavioural science and beyond to start understanding what we could do - together - to reverse this pattern, and see real local impact on the climate crisis led by local government and citizens together.

To do this, we are seeking investment to launch an 18-month prototype: a combination of a think tank and real-time testing of solutions in local towns and cities around the world.
