Currently there are high-tech edtech startups that offer access to an online knowledge-base, but there is no offering that uses technology to connect people to real-world educational offerings in a sophisticated way. Currently there are two universes for education - the world of in-person classes which people have to access through a fragmented hodge podge of resources such as personal recommendations, general google searching, local advertising, etc., and then the online world (Coursera, Udemy, Kahn Academy) that are more high-tech but are not for connecting their users with in-person opportunities. TakeAClass is the first to bring the best of both worlds together.
