Sustenra is an independent advisory firm helping institutions strengthen the governance, oversight and long-term performance of funded programmes.

We work with corporate foundations, philanthropic funders, financial institutions, impact investors and sustainability teams. Our work can begin before funding is committed, when organisations need to assess partners, governance, delivery structures and risk. It can continue during implementation, when stronger oversight, accountability or performance visibility is needed. We also support programmes when delivery is under pressure, relationships are strained or funding is changing or coming to an end.

Sustenra was founded by three women with experience across programme delivery, funding, research, evaluation, policy and institutional governance. Between us, we have worked across the United Kingdom, Europe, North America, the Middle East, Africa, Eastern Europe and Central Asia.

We are a senior-led firm. Clients work directly with experienced advisers who understand both institutional decision-making and the realities of programme delivery. We do not have an implementation arm or commercial referral model, which allows us to provide an independent view of what is working, what is not and what needs to change.

Our aim is simple: to help institutions make better funding decisions, identify risks earlier and build programmes that remain credible and effective beyond the first funding cycle.
