StudySpot provides Academic Coaching to high school and university students. Our philosophy is that when students struggle in high school, their issues are more likely to be a result a lack of skills then difficulty with content. Since 1999, we have supported our students by providing one-on-one academic coaching; teaching and applying time-proven organization and academic skills within the context of a mentoring relationship. StudySpot developed a niche for working with students who have been diagnosed with weak executive funcitioning relating to a diagnosed learning challenge or attention deficit. This population of students continues to grow and an understanding of the importance executive function to learning success has become wide spread. Our approach to helping students has proven successful as demonstrated through over twenty years of existence and our growth into cities accross Canada. Five years ago StudySpot began licensing the use of our brand and coaching materials to like-minded entraprenuers so they could support the students in their communities. In an effort to continue to meet the needs of students, we are transitioning from in-person coaching to virtual coaching. We wish to take advantage of technology to faciliate a more structured online coaching experience, and develop mobile tools that will support students both during and between coaching sessions. A learning platform will improve and facilitate the training of new coaches and create added value for our licensees. We believe that this transformation will not only improve our current service but allow us to accellerate our growth and support students around the world.
