STec RCI is a treatment system that reduces harmful carbon dioxide (CO2) and nitrogen oxide (NOx) pollutants from the exhaust of marine diesel engines. Every year over 250 million tons of carbon dioxide and 100 million tons of nitrogen oxide are emitted from the exhaust of marine vessels, threatening our health, climate and ecosystems. The International Maritime Organization regulations limiting noxious emissions from vessels over 78'/24m to 300'/91m will go into effect January 2021 and will severely impact diesel-powered recreational, commercial, ferries and tour boats that do not have a usable emissions treatment system. Under pressure to meet upcoming regulations, diesel engine manufacturers and boat builders have been trying to adapt a truck-based exhaust treatment system (SCR) to boats with little success due to fundamental issues as high heat requirements and engine space limitations. A large targetable market exists now. There is an immediate demand for RCI technology, the only viable exhaust treatment system that fits in engine rooms of new builds and into existing vessels under 300'/91m, does not use caustic or corrosive materials and is cost effective. Vessels using the RCI system will be regulations-compliant without modifications to the existing engine, reducing NOx 90% and CO2 50% thereby reducing toxic emissions by millions of tons annually. RCI has been tested, validated and International patents have been approved..
