We are taking the fun and engaging aspects of social media and applying them to help people manage their finances better. Born out of the Zinc VC startup incubator, we have a social impact driven mission. We believe that making finance relevant, engaging and collaborative will drive an increase in financial literacy amongst young people which at the moment stands at about 9%. Like social media drove a new social norm of providing a view into peoples' personal lives, and Airbnb and Uberpool got people comfortable sharing their personal space, we have to explode a new social norm of financial transparency. Vital to the success of the product is to develop a brand image appealing to young people but trustworthy at the same time. We will use machine learning to analyse spending and saving behaviour to make recommendations and offer advice. Further, we have partnered with the appropriate 3rd party providers to position us well to take advantage of Open Banking and PSD2. We are looking to hire first employees who will have an equity interest in the company. We want to attract independent workers with execution skills as well as ideas and initiative.
