Sqrrl is a venture-backed, Cambridge-based Big Data startup that develops Sqrrl Enterprise, a secure, massively scalable NoSQL database for real-time applications. Built on a foundation of Apache Accumulo and Hadoop, Sqrrl Enterprise scales to petabytes of data. Critical data is secured via Sqrrl Enterprise’s fine-grained, cell-level security controls and encryption. We’re looking for the next members to join our growing team of excellent engineers. Engineers at Sqrrl grapple with Big Data problems on a day-to-day basis. As we travel up and down the stack, our days are filled with API and feature design, distributed systems problems, analytical algorithms, and building for performance at scale. Our team is high-performing, low ego, and dedicated to making our business successful. We have one dog, four cats, three bikes, a bunch of kids, and one mohawk. We currently have openings at various levels of experience. Hadoop and/or distributed systems experience is a plus, but even more than that we’re looking for smart, hard-working engineers who have mastered their (ever-evolving) set of development tools, can work collaboratively, and have a strong sense of responsibility to their team, product, and users.
