The Founding team have a background in higher education and were fed up with seeing people pushed through a conveyor belt system that pushed people out at the end with little personal support along the way. Sort was designed as a scalable solution to support people from their first career choices to support informed decision making around the education pathways they can take, through their first job, and to be there when the time comes for a career change. Sort fills the 'Pre-linkedIn' in space, where people need the headspace to discover their options, map out ideas. From this point they can build their skills and make connections with companies earlier in the process, building their knowledge as they develop. With the most engaging careers dataset in the UK (well, we think so) companies can us this to promote their employer offer, inform our users, and give them a real world steer towards the most appropriate courses and training. At the same time they are directly engaging and then in a position to attract talent to roles when they are ready. Of the 500k people who have used Sort so far, there is one statement that we hear all the time: "I wish I had this when I was younger." We are ready to scale and have secured the funding to do so.
