The Device
Sonogen has developed a new and innovative ultrasonic bone fracture healing device premised upon 35 years of published studies, theoretical research, and proof of concept testing. Sonogen’s patent pending acoustic signal, which is specifically optimized to accelerate bone fracture healing, will deliver faster healing, increased reliability, improved patient compliance, and an integrated mobile application that provides real-time healing feedback.
The Research
Sonogen conducted a proof of concept (POC) in vivo animal study, in collaboration with Thomas Jefferson University Hospital (TJUH) and the Mayo Clinic. In this study, Sonogen compared our new LIPUS signal against the leading market device. This blinded study demonstrated that the Sonogen signal results in 25% better bone stiffness and 25% higher pre-fracture strength than the competition, with more than 95% confidence.
The Market
The service obtainable market (SOM) for bone fracture healing devices based on low-intensity pulsed ultrasound (LIPUS) is expected to exceed $250MM this year, growing at a CAGR of at least 5.5% and reaching $300MM by 2024. And although Sonogen is initially focused on extremity healing, our innovative technology is potentially applicable for other healing applications, including veterinary ($250MM), spinal fusion healing ($600MM), and wound healing ($2.5B).
