Sonara is a novel medication adherence platform that supports Opioid Treatment Programs (OTPs) to enable patients to move off of daily, in-clinic methadone dosing to up to a monthly supply of take-home medication (the federal limit). This acceleration of take-home medication improves patients' quality of life, and early signs show that it significantly impacts treatment retention and clinical outcomes. Today, the requirement for in-clinic daily dosing is a significant barrier for people with work and family obligations, not to mention people who live far away from an OTP where daily visits have never been tenable. The limitation, combined with the prevalence of illicit fentanyl, has translated to skyrocketing overdose deaths, high treatment drop-out rates, and excessive spending on ER/hospital visits and medical transport.
