Sequel is a startup engineering better health experiences for menstruators, starting with an improved tampon. Sequel has had multiple domestic and international patents approved in a highly gridlocked patent space. Sequel was founded by two high-level athletes and Stanford engineers—Greta Meyer and Amanda Calabrese. Meyer played Division 1 lacrosse at Stanford and was an Under Armour All-American, while Calabrese is a member of the USA Lifesaving Team and 9X National Champion. In their athletic careers, Meyer and Calabrese struggled with period care during competitions. They saw an opportunity to build a better-performing tampon. Sequel has pulIed together an impressive team including former Procter & Gamble and Johnson & Johnson engineers to lead R&D. Sequel has raised $5 million in funding to bring the product to market.
