Seiva has developed sensor-enabled training gear, that can measure the angles of important joints while providing sport-specific analysis on how these measurements impact performance. Currently, we are working with former Olympic speed skaters and NHL skating coaches to measure push-off, hip tilt and foot rotation angles in real-time.
These metrics allow us to provide coaches with an actionable error metric that they can have their athlete focus on in order to improve their skating stride. This new insight allows speed skaters to cut their lap times and hockey players to skate to the puck faster. Our software also uses trending algorithms to track an athlete’s improvement, and to measure their risk of injury. In an application like running, our software can analyze, over time, which stride lengths and cadence yield an athlete’s greatest speed and which minimize their risk of injury.
