We’re building Secure to be the benefit and financial solution that we wish we had as employees – and one that we’re excited to offer as leaders. Secure was founded in reaction to the economic catastrophe that resulted from the Covid-19 pandemic in early 2020. As tens of millions lost their jobs, businesses and savings in just a matter of weeks, we felt called to act. Our founding team comes from meager beginnings and has dealt with our own financial emergencies and insecurity in the past and we knew for most Americans, the recovery was going to be a long, tough road. Early on in the ideation process, Devin and Bassam connected with Suze Orman. Suze, the worlds most trusted and respected personal finance expert, has spent the last 30 years motivating people to build their emergency fund and prepare for the unexpected. Our founding team quickly bonded around the mission of helping people feel and be secure, and our shared vision of having every person better prepared for financial setbacks. Our co-founders set off to create the first employer-sponsored emergency savings account that was purpose-built to make an emergency savings fund easy, automatic and always accessible. We believe that the path to long term financial success starts with building and maintaining an emergency fund to help you weather any storm and to boost your confidence and momentum financially. Our team has worked for decades building financial technology products and advocating to tens of millions on the importance of a secure financial foundation. To us, Secure is more than just a business or a technology product, we are on a mission to fundamentally change how people save and in the process change our society for the better.
