As compared to existing x-ray flat panel imaging detectors used in CT scan, CBCT scan, digital radiography, mammography and fluoroscopy/C-arm/mini C-arm comprising 50 to 200 microns (um) pixel size, our proprietary NeoImaging x-ray flat panel detector will have a 15 um pixel size and will reduce radiation dose >90% at the hardware level. This is possible thanks to the incorporation of a thin and inexpensive microlens array on top of the pixels which will focus the light that otherwise would fallen into the non-sensitive areas of the sensor plus an improved high quantum efficiency/fill factor pixel architecture.
