Our social and environmental challenges are networked, each affecting one and compounded by another. To address them, we too must operate as networks, and break the silos of institutions, disciplines, borders and generations. That’s why Protagonist is only for purpose-driven networks. The more cross-pollination and the more rapid the diffusion of ideas and resources — the more effectively we can respond to our shared challenges. Where does one host a purpose-driven network, today? Not social media platforms; they are unfit for serious people working on serious problems. Slack is designed for the single siloed corporation, not networks spanning multiple organizations. And, it’s expensive. One could stitch together a stack of services that don’t talk to each other, but that’s expensive, a lot of work, won’t be a friendly experience.
