We believe that at a minimum, academic teachers should collect accurate data on who feels engaged in their class, and how learning is occurring. Furthermore, students need to be empowered to signal any learning needs to their teachers. Our hypothesis is that through using our service, student attendance, preparedness and participation will not only increase as students are more cognizant of their learning, but the student experience will also improve as teachers are empowered in real-time to make necessary changes to content and modes of delivery. After years of frustration with the lack of process and systems available to us to collect valid and reliable feedback on student experience, we have decided to address the student engagement problem by developing our own unique mobile and web based software. With over a decade of experience across various leading higher-education institutions between us, our two founders are classroom educators, and, more importantly teaching experimenters. We are young and motivated lecturers, with the ability to diagnose and solve problems for our users because we know them best. Importantly we know what makes both academics and students “tick”, and we know the pain-points and solutions they are craving for some of our most pressing higher-education problems.
