1 in 8 women are expected to die from breast cancer, yet, only 60 million women of the 1.6 billion women are screened. If all 1.6 billion or a majority of women were screened, the number of lives that could be saved would be immense. Currently, screening is done by Mammography which is traumatic, unaffordable and inaccessible to most women (>95%) in the world. As a result many women die without even having a fighting chance. Even if you could make mammography accessible all over the world the cost is unbearable by most and the time taken to get reports far too long. Hence, a need for a low resource and low cost solution. The problem is even more significant in developing and underdeveloped regions of the world.
