PlayFab unlocks a new world of creativity for game developers by providing a "backend-as-a-service" built exclusively for games. We give game developers the tools, technologies, and know-how they need to build and operate their games profitably over the long haul. PlayFab was founded in 2014 by James Gwertzman, a former executive at PopCap, and is staffed entirely with industry veterans with experience at companies like Microsoft, Sony Online Entertainment, Uber Entertainment, Big Fish Games, ArenaNet, Gas Powered Games, and Monolith. PlayFab is built on the “UberNet” technology that has been developed at Uber Entertainment over the last 3 years and has already been used to power 3 games into the Steam top 10.
