PlanUp is a start-up with a worthwhile goal: helping people live more rewarding, productive lives by enabling and facilitating meaningful, real-life social interactions. We believe that our society is one in which technology, social media, and online social networks are making it easy for a person to *feel* connected without real-world, real-life interactions. Unfortunately for us, we believe that this kind of online interaction, though termed "social", fails to meet that basic human needs for togetherness and friendship. We also believe that technology, and especially software, has become all consumptive in our lives because it is designed to be that way. We find ourselves drawn into our devices even when we're out and supposedly "experiencing" the real world... but how much do we miss because our eyes are glued to our screens as we await a response to the "where r u?" text you sent to the friend who is supposed to be meeting you. That's why we are employing mobile technology to find ways to make it increasingly easy to facilitate social interactions, delivering targeted, relevant information to our users as quickly as possible, allowing them to put their devices away and focus on what's actually happening around them. We have already released an early version of PlanUp to the market and are continuing to refine that application while we design and develop additional, supporting applications for the platform. We are small, agile, and wholly devoted to building things that are both elegant and highly functional.
