Place Technology careers
Place Technology was founded with a single goal: Make financial forecasting more timely, more efficient and simply better for small and medium businesses. Our story is grounded in the “Why we do it” and differentiated in the “How we do it.” So we’ll start with the why.
For years, CPAs, controllers and other finance professionals at SMBs had two options: Stick with spreadsheets and manual reporting or invest too much time and money in enterprise solutions built for much larger organizations.
Our founders, successful serial entrepreneurs Brandon Metcalf and Kabe VanderBaan, encountered that same problem at their former company, Talent Rover. They started, as most do, with the basics in Excel before adopting an enterprise-level financial forecasting solution that was too complex, too expensive and took too long to integrate. Like many finance professionals similarly burned by failed technology integrations, they reverted back to spreadsheets. But that particular adoption failure raised the question, “Why is there such a gap between the old way of forecasting and the overly complex way of forecasting?”
The answer to that question is what small and medium-sized SaaS and professional services companies see today in PlaceCPM: financial forecasting technology made simple, built for speed and flexibility, and designed specifically for them.
Whether you’re a finance professional at a SaaS business trying to adjust your recurring contract revenues or a professional services firm looking to improve operational efficiencies and protect margins, our goal is to give you the toolset to better prepare for your financial future. For us, that starts with easy implementations, faster time to value and first-class customer service. For our customers, it ends with more forecasts quicker, less day-to-day grind, deeper customization that scales with and not against you, and more confidence in the integrity of your reporting.
