Philanthrofi is in the development stage of building a platform to assist with the cumbersome partnering process that countless development organizations and socially minded corporations face on a daily basis. Our solution uses an artificial intelligence driven technology to optimize the partnering process for efficacious relationship building between the private sector and the public sector. Why? Because the aid delivery system is broken. Crippling mandates are put on nonprofits, international non-governmental organizations and other development organizations yielding an unproductive upward accountability to donors, rather than a downward accountability to those they’re intended to serve. Relationships with the private sector can lead to a refreshingly innovative approach to development that generates supplementary funds for INGOs versus being entirely reliant on the current donor-driven funding mechanism. Private sector engagement, according to the Swedish International Development Agency (SIDA), is “an instrument to achieve sustainable, poverty-reducing economic growth”, yet relying on these relationships has been highly criticized. For starters, there is a visceral difficulty in forming these partnerships based on shared visions and values, which inhibits the ability to foster long-lasting and sustainable relationships. Further, when a partnership is eventually formed, it is often unsustainable because of a disconnect between missions and values, despite both entities wanting to build a strong relationship. We are building a diverse team of brilliant and dedicated change makers to pave the way for this solution to succeed. We have already won multiple renowned pitch competitions and are currently in conversation with several investing firms who want to support us in this early stage.
