If you want to learn English, Spanish, French, or Japanese, you will find thousands of high-quality resources to do so online. But what if you're learning Javanese, Cebuano, Hopi, or Nepalbhasa? If anything does exist for such smaller languages, it's usually very shallow and low-quality.

According to current trends, roughly half of the world's 7000 or so languages are set to die by the end of the century. Each time a language dies, humanity loses a piece of its culture forever. But there are numerous examples around the world - notably Basque (Spain) and Maori (New Zealand) - where decline has been stopped and turned around, and others - be it Siraya (Taiwan), Cornish (UK), Livonian (Latvia), or others - where a community has brought a dormant language back. Quality language learning materials have an important role to play here.
