Prior to Palenca, the three of us were building a lending company focused on the gig economy and had a hard time validating earnings and behavior that we needed to underwrite credit. To solve that we built integrations with gig economy platforms (e.g. Uber, DiDi, Rappi). We have a background working in the gig economy industry for 4 years. First, working at Uber/ Uber Eats and then launching a lending company in 2019 (Vech). - As a former Data Scientist in LatAm Uber Rides, Pierre knows the data and the metrics of this industry really well. - José worked at Uber Eats in Sales and Operations, he worked closely with couriers and restaurants where he had to deal with fraudulent couriers and long on boarding processes. - Antoine Nguyen was previously the CTO and co-founder of Covela (backed by YC).
