While we love our distributed culture, we recognize that there may be a few things we miss out on if we had a physical office, like unlimited coffee, happy hours with co-workers or face to face work time. That’s why we have made it a priority to intentionally build a strong community with coworkers hundreds of miles away. Each week, we have opportunities to get to know co-workers including Tea on Tuesdays, Team Meetings, 1:1s, Weekly Meditation, and Weekly Workouts. During our Monday Company Meetings, we celebrate teammate or family milestones - we even have one of our in-house musicians sing Happy Birthday! We also host in-person retreats each year so you can enjoy your team in real life! We have several non-work chat channels in Slack including #balance-books where team members share about their favorite reads to #balance-mindfulness where team members drop daily gratitude notes to #balance-cute where team members drop photos of their new puppies. Each of these channels give you an opportunity to get to know your coworkers and take breaks from work when you need it. In line with our value of Spread Joy, we’ve created a platform where anyone can share Spread Joy e-cards and requests for Postcards or swag to be sent to team members.
