Openxmed is an interactive digital health platform that helps doctors quickly make high-quality clinical
decisions for complex patients, while maintaining clinic profitability.
The Problem:

Time savings via evidence-based interactive algorithms
The Product:
Openxmed comprises both an authoring component and a consumption capability for its interactive algorithms. Primary care and specialist physicians collaborate on algorithm creation using a visual programming language; and algorithms are “run” at point of care by the family physician.
Competition:
• No other existing platform offers interactive, data-based diagnostic algorithms. However, there are a few incumbents offering lookup-based diagnostic and treatment content.
• UpToDate is a wiki-like clinical decision support resource. It is comprehensive but not personalized, and time consuming to read; some sections include static algorithm diagrams.
• HealthPathways is a New Zealand a community-based online pathways manual developed by Canterbury
• Regional health board and implemented by Streamliners to assist with appropriate primary care decisions and specialist referrals.
• Figure1 is a visually-oriented Instagram-like community where physicians post images asking for advice. Advice can take time to come back, depending on the availability and interest of readers; advice may be anecdotal and not research-supported.
• Epocrates is another reference tool that includes drug interactions and calculators.
