Open Room careers

Open Room is a highly curated community for founders, solopreneurs and entrepreneurs who want people around them they can be honest with, learn from and build alongside.

Members include YC and Techstars alumni, repeat and exited founders, experienced operators and first-time entrepreneurs. We interview every applicant and match groups of around 10-15 people based on their company’s stage, experience and current challenges.

The same group meets online twice a month for 75 minutes, guided by a facilitator. Conversations cover finding customers, product-market fit, growth, fundraising, hiring, cofounder relationships and the personal side of building. Members share firsthand experience, challenge each other’s thinking and follow up on next steps. Over time, people know your situation without needing the whole story again.

Beyond the calls, members have access to community introductions and feedback, an Ask for Help board, guest speakers, 20-minute office hours with our founders and member perks.

We also built a free cofounder matching platform, open worldwide with no Open Room membership required. People share their background and what they’re looking for, and we personally suggest matches with a written explanation. Introductions happen only when both people are interested. It’s for people already building, exploring an idea or looking for a company to join.

Open Room was founded by Itay Forer and Alex Prober. Itay scaled a YC-backed company from three founders to 400+ employees before a strategic merger and now coaches founders and CEOs worldwide. Alex has built and scaled venture-backed and bootstrapped businesses, sold products and companies, and worked as a founder, CTO and investor.
